I started out as a painter in the early 1970s. Yet, I was fortunate enough to study sculpture with John Walker at Southwest Missouri State University. Although I did not do so well in that class at the time, the seed of 3D art had been planted in me. Later in the early 1980s, when I grew frustrated with painting, I flashed back to my experiences with Walker. Then after reading a biography of Kurt Schwitters, I began to pursue collage and sculpture in earnest. Soon sculpture became my preferred way of making art. Below are some general categories of my sculpture. Click on the thumbnail of the piece of interest to see a larger version image with dimensions, medium, etc.
